How To Take Lux Unfiltered Feed-worthy Content

I’m back! It’s Hope again, Marketing Coordinator at Lux Unfiltered. I’m here to share some more tips with you, but this week it’s all about taking Lux Unfiltered feed worthy content. If you were to ask me to take content about a year ago, I wouldn’t even know where to begin. After working alongside the pros, I have picked up some tricks and want to share with you guys.

 

STEP 1 | GATHER YOUR INSPO

TikTok, Instagram and Pinterest will quickly become your new BFF’s. I always start by browsing for a little to spark ideas and save videos and pictures that I like to refer to while I’m shooting. Having an idea to start with is super helpful because it gives you a starting point and gets the creative juices flowing.

 

STEP 2 | MAKE A SHOT LIST

This helps SO much while you’re shooting. Planning your shots is super important because you’ll know exactly what products you are shooting, what order you’re doing them in and the idea for each shot. 

 

STEP 3 | FIND YOUR SPACE

This is probably the most important part of shooting! Finding the perfect area can be the hardest part but will make or break the shot. For me, the simpler the better. I like a clean, easy backdrop of counter space that isn’t too busy because you don’t want to take away from the product. The second part to this is finding the best lighting! We pretty much only shoot in natural light, so most of the time I am shooting outside or inside directly next to a window. 

 

STEP 4 | GET A TRIPOD

This is a need, not a want. 99% of the time I am shooting alone and this saves me time, energy and helps me get the shot I wouldn’t be able to get alone.

 

THE LUX UNFILTERED SHOOT GUIDELINES 

  • Wear neutral colors
  • Avoid primary colors
  • Shoot only in direct sunlight 
  • Have clean, neutral nails
  • If shooting on your body, shave & apply lotion
  • NO filters
  • Film in the highest quality possible
  • Bump some music

 

Whether you’re shooting products, lifestyle shots or taking selfies, these are some tips and tricks that I’ve found to be super helpful! Always take more than you think because the more options the better. Hopefully, this helps you for your next content day!
