How To Combat Dry And Dehydrated Skin

How To Combat Dry And Dehydrated Skin

Dry skin is never the vibe, especially during bikini season, so we’re sharing our moisturizing skincare routine - from head to toe. Follow these steps and get ready to show some skin!

EXFOLIATE

Our skin cells naturally turnover every 28-42 days, which can leave lingering dead skin if you don’t exfoliate. 1-2x a week, use our gentle exfoliator, N°28 Exfoliating Body Polish, while cleansing to scrub away dead cells, even skin tone, and eliminate the dingy dullness that dry skin leaves otherwise. Our body polish is a blend of crushed sugar, passion fruit oil, shea butter, and Vitamin E for the silky smooth skin we all crave.

Pro tip: Use this gentle exfoliator as a primer before starting a new tan and to slough off any remaining self-tanner when needed.

HYDRATE

Dehydration can lead to various issues, dry skin and lips being one of them. Chug chug chug your water!! The skin on your lips, hands, and face should be clear signs that you are or are not getting enough - think juicy, plump, hydrated skin as the goal.

We also love electrolyte packs to boost hydration, especially after especially sweaty workouts and activities.

DON'T STRIP SKIN

Many typical body washes will strip your skin of their natural oils, which is the opposite of what we are trying to achieve. To truly combat dry and dehydrated skin, switch your body cleanser for N°16 Opulent Shower Oil when in the bath or shower. It infuses skin with jojoba oil, avocado oil, and grape seed oil, which are key ingredients to lasting hydration.

USE A HUMIDIFIER

If you live in an especially dry climate, a humidifier could be life-changing. Fill one up and place it near your bed while you sleep so that your body (and money maker) aren’t getting stressed from the dry air. It’ll also help with any congestion you have from air conditioning or heating.

MOISTURIZE DEEPLY

Drugstore lotion won’t cut it - which is why we created the everyday cream of our dreams. Our N°14 Conditioning Body Cream is loaded with jojoba oil, squalane, shea butter, Vitamin C, & hyaluronic acid to give your skin all the hydration it needs daily.

We like to apply when our skin is still damp, fresh out of the shower, or whenever we need a hydrating boost.

REMEMBER THE HANDS

Between trips to the nail salon, washing your hands, and everything else our hands go through, they’re one of the first areas to show a lack of hydration - and aging. Address both issues with our N°24 Reviving Hand Cream. We keep this on us at all times and apply it after hand washes or whenever things need to be quenched.

HYDRATE YOUR POUT

Last but not least, your lips! We love the old-school trick of making a paste out of sugar + water to slough away dead skin on your lips. Dip a toothbrush in the DIY paste and gently brush your lips until things feel smooth. Finish things off with N°15 Soothing Lip Serum, a luxurious lip treatment loaded with hyaluronic acid, squalane, liquid shea butter, prickly pear extract & watermelon extract.

You can also apply a thick coat of N°15 before bed as a lip mask if your lips need some extra TLC.
