Q&A with Creator of Becker Editorial, Chelsea Becker

Chelsea Becker is the founder of Becker Editorial, where she helps brands find their voice and tell stories that resonate through intentional, impactful content.

In this exclusive Q&A, she gives us a glimpse into her life as a business owner, mom of two, and beauty enthusiast.

Q. Tell us a bit about yourself!
A. My name is Chelsea Becker and I'm the creator of Becker Editorial - a strategic content agency based in San Diego.

Q. How do you maintain your tan while working full time & being a mom?
A. Effortless is KEY for me. Not only because I'm generally low maintenance, but I'm time poor these days. For me, it's going back and forth between N°32 Tanning Cream & N°14 Conditioning Body Cream every other day. Natural, fool-proof, and hydrating.

Q. What does a typical (or ideal) day look like for you?
A. I wake up around 5:30 and try to get a workout in before the kids wake up. Once they're up, it's a hot mess of getting everyone packed and prepped for the day. I have about 5 seconds to get ready before taking them to school and heading to the office. Most of my work is done virtually, so it's a lot of computer work and calls + lunch meetings a couple times a week. Evenings are all about the kids, unless I'm sneaking away for a date night or girls happy hour, followed by a minimal skincare routine, reading, and a 9 p.m. bedtime. 

Q. Which Becker Editorial project are you most proud of and why?
A. We're going on our 10th year so I can't pick! I'm honestly proud of so much and grateful that I get to do what I love every day with clients who have become family - as cheesy as it sounds. I'm always most excited about helping with launches, hitting major goals, and creative branding projects. Helping a client manage a NYT best-seller was pretty cool, too!

Q. What is your favorite part and the biggest challenge of running your own business?
A. Favorite part is the autonomy & being able to follow my own gut with decisions. Biggest challenge? All the BTS business BS that I'm not skilled at yet have to be a part of - HR, taxes, ops... I need help there!
